Help revitalize Indiana's Indian culture and communities

Your gift to AICI will help build capacity of AICI's programs in empowering the lives of the estimated 43,000 American Indians/Alaska Natives in Indiana through enhanced job opportunities, health and well-being, and cultural development.  This is especially so given American Indian/Alaska Native (AIAN) persons in Indiana experience social, economic, and cultural challenges in contrast to Indiana's population overall.  U.S. Census Bureau statistics for 2000 indicated that AIAN persons in Indiana had a lower median household income ($33,361) than the overall state population ($41,567); a higher poverty rate (16%) that the state overall (10%); and a higher rate of disability among persons ages 21-64 years (34% versus 19% for the state overall).  Moreover, health disparities exist among AIAN persons nationwide.  According to the Office of Minority Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, between 1999 and 2003, AIAN persons nationwide were 2.3 times as likely as Whites to have Type II diabetes.

Since AICI is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, your gift or monetary donation to AICI is tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
